In addition to some upcoming reunion shows, groove-centric New York post-hardcore greats Burn have announced they'll soon be issuing their first new recordings in 15 years. A three-song 7-inch called From the Ashes will be released July 15 through Bridge 9.
A press release confirms that the release is the first new group of Burn recordings since 2001's Cleanse, which itself was a reunion release that came 11 years after the band's self-titled debut EP.
From the Ashes was crafted after the band capped another years-long sabbatical, with vocalist Chaka Malik (Orange 9mm) noting that he knew Burn would eventually make their return.
"Burn has so much left to share that it was inevitable that we would regroup at some point in time," he said in a statement. "With the flames stoked high in our personal lives, the intensity and passion that makes us who we are as a band needs to come to light once again."
While physical copies of From the Ashes won't arrive until the summer, the three-song release is streaming now. You can check out the slammed-up post-hardcore collection below, courtesy of Noisey. There, you'll also find the details on Burn's upcoming run of reunion dates.
