The Bug Reveals Plans for New Album Projects

With his moniker as the Bug, dubstep pioneer Kevin Martin has been busy as the genre reaches critical mass. From 2008's excellent London Zoo to his recent debut with King Midas Sound called Waiting for You, Martin can easily be considered dubstep royalty. He shows no signs of slowing down, either, with three potential releases on the horizon.

In a recent interview with The Wire [via FACT], Martin revealed that he has three potential albums on the horizon. One is a collaborative album with UK dub legend Adrian Sherwood, who has worked with everyone from Lee "Scratch" Perry to Ministry. On top of that, Martin is planning another collaboration with King Midas Sound's Hitomi under the name Black Chow, and a KMS remix album.

With so many different projects always on the horizon, it might be confusing to understand Martin's intentions under different monikers. "Fundamentally I'm the Bug," he clarified. "I'm the Bug within King Midas Sound. I'm not neglecting that. I'm not saying it's different totally, because that's my way of working. And actually Midas is becoming more Bug-like as it gets a little more intense and noisier, but there's more highs and lows."

For now, that's all we know about the new projects. King Midas Sound's Waiting for You is available now from Hyperdub.
