Following in the footsteps of some of his fellow 1970s rock luminaries, Bruce Springsteen has sold the masters and music publishing rights of his entire catalogue to Sony Music and Sony Music Publishing respectively.

As reported by Billboard, the combined deal is worth a hefty $500 million USD and includes over 300 songs, 20 studio albums, 23 live EPs, seven EPs, and a bunch more.

Springsteen has been releasing his albums through Columbia Records — an imprint of Sony — for the entirety of his 50-year career. Last month, he was in negotiations with Sony to sell his album catalogue while also shopping his publishing catalogue around, which was held under Universal Music Publishing Group. Looks like he chose to stay close to home.

Bob Dylan's enormous publishing catalogue was sold to Universal Music Publishing Group in 2020 for more than $300 million USD. The previous year, the master rights to Taylor Swift's first six albums were sold for over $300 million USD to a private equity firm, prompting this whole Taylor's Version saga.

Springsteen's last album was 2020's Letter to You, and he recently released The Legendary 1979 No Nukes Concerts concert film and live album.
