Brilliant Colors Return with Again and Again, Hit Up Toronto and Montreal

When San Francisco twee punk trio Brilliant Colors released their debut album Introducing in 2009, we likened the release to "a round of speed dating, but one that leads to a lasting relationship instead of a one-night stand." With that in mind, we're aching for more material from these ladies if this is going to work between us. Fortunately, the band have just dropped word of a new album.

The forthcoming record is called Again and Again, and like the first, it will come out on via dream pop masters Slumberland Records and feature production from Alex Yusimov. A press release explains that there are some sonic differences, however, saying, "the songwriting is still as infectious as ever, but the tunes are now more carefully arranged, pushing the band far beyond their punk roots to something as elemental as pop gets."

Slumberland will issue Again and Again on June 28 on CD and LP. The group will also perform at Toronto's Parts and Labour on June 14 and Montreal's Le Cagibi on June 15 as part of a tour that is currently being booked. For more info on that tour, keep an eye on the Brilliant Colors blog.
