Breeze

"Paradise (in a while)" (video)

Breeze is the new Toronto-based project from Beliefs/Elk member Josh Korody. While initially started up as a trio, the group have now ballooned to include former Hot Hot Heat bassist Dustin Hawthorne and occasional keyboard player Louise Burns.

The dream pop project will make their official debut September 22 when Hand Drawn Dracula issues their "Paradise (in a while)" / "Repent" single digitally and on limited-edition cassette. In the meantime, you can hear the A-side in the new video down below.

The song plays extra jangly, à la Real Estate, and features a reasonably sullen dude going for a sombre walk in the forest with a gorgeous lady friend. Despite the clip's idyllic setting, which becomes further intensified with panoramic shots of greenery, the guy just never cheers up. A city boy at heart, he caps the clip stumbling through a city street alone. Bummer.

To celebrate the single, Breeze will play a release party September 8 in Toronto at Day + Night Salon. You can get more info here.

For now, check out the video below.
