Boys Noize

As soon as you pop on Suck My Deck, you know you’re in for it. The DJ mix by Boys Noize (aka Berlin producer Alexander Ridha) drops 34 testosterone-loaded bangers in a little over an hour, a move that would likely reduce even the most stimulant-fuelled clubber to a stupor in no time. However, in Ridha’s hands the dizzyingly kaleidoscope of fist-pumping productions all meshes into a well-planned and even better executed mix, carefully transitioning from one point to the next and quickly making you forget you’re edging toward a newfound ADD affliction. As far as song choice goes, Ridha culls his material from mostly predictable but nonetheless enjoyable sources such as Daft Punk’s Thomas Bangalter, Justice, SebastiAn and Surkin, along with a few old schoolers like Reel 2 Real and Outlander. Now, whether this will all make you want to get down and actually suck Ridha’s deck is up to you. But the mix does prove that no matter how obnoxious Oi Oi Oi was, he’s at least got some mad skills as a DJ.
