Vancouver noise-rock duo Boogie Monster returned from a year-and-a-half-long hiatus this past weekend to perform their final show, but the band left their fans with one new tune to savour on- and offstage before going their separate ways. The new, primal swan song is called "Clicking Tongues to the New Bug Beat."
Prior to a live premiere of the number at Vancouver's Astoria, guitarist Ben Fussel posted a demo on SoundCloud. The track still homes in on the duo's fast and frenetic whirl of Lightning Bolt-styled destruction, but "Clicking Tongues to the New Bug Beat" starts off with a masterfully restrained, yet powerful thud before ultimately unfurling into a haze of drum blasts and peeling six-strings.
