Bong-Ripping Phish Fan Gets Unbanned from the Sphere

Walking back the ban, the venue cited a "breakdown in process"

That guy who was banned from Madison Square Garden Corp. (MSG Entertainment) concert venues for posting a video of himself ripping a bong during the dick-in-a-blender-worthy April 20 Phish concert at the Sphere in Las Vegas has now, apparently, been unbanned. The Sphere walked back the company's previous decision, citing a "breakdown in process."

"There was a breakdown in our process due to a change in personnel which resulted in the letter being sent inadvertently," a spokesperson for the venue said in a statement. "This customer is not banned from our properties, however, it is still against our policies, which are in accordance with local laws, to smoke, bring glassware into our venues, and disrupt other fans' enjoyment of the event."

The yet-unnamed fan who operates the Instagram account @acid_farts told Rolling Stone that he had "no regrets" for lighting up at the Sphere on the dankest day of the year (and at a Phish concert, no less) — but his plans to attend a Dead and Company show for a friend's 40th birthday last week were impeded by the very brief ban. He had received the legal notice — signed by MSG Entertainment Senior Vice President and Associate General Counsel, Christopher Schimpf — just as he was preparing to make the trip to Vegas.
