The Boneless Children Foundation

Stars For Anyone

It’s a really lazy way to classify the group but the Boneless Children Foundation are an art-punk band. I’m sure a lot of people are going to throw various obscure adjectives at them trying to describe their sound, because that’s what writers do. But that’s not to say this is a bad record, simply that it’s really, really hard to define exactly what’s going on. There’s a strong Dead Milkmen vibe, especially in the guitar tone and the slightly goofy, nonsensical lyrics. They also most likely listen to a lot of Cap’N Jazz and Modest Mouse. What Stars For Anyone exude even more than the unorthodox, clever melodies or the quirky lyrics is a sense of irony. They are one of those bands where, as long as you get the joke, you’re in for one hell of a ride.
