Devoutly dedicated to keeping it brutal, Metalocalypse follows the often gory misadventures of Dethklok, an animated metal act that is not only the biggest selling band of all time but the 12th largest economy in the world and a revolutionary cultural force of immense importance. Some of the humour may be lost on those who aren’t familiar with the metal stereotypes being mocked or the casual references to music history but the show itself appeals to people from all musical preferences for a very simple reason: it’s hilarious. Unless creators Brandon Small and Tommy Blacha have been lobotomised at the hands of the Cartoon Network, season two (now airing) promises to be even metaller. The Metalocalypse has begun!
