This September will mark 50 years since the release of Black Sabbath's Paranoid album, and to mark the occasion, the metal pioneers will be giving their sophomore effort a massive anniversary reissue.
Arriving through Rhino on October 9, the "Super Deluxe Edition" of Paranoid arrives as the five-LP set seen above, complete with a hardbound book featuring extensive liner notes, rare photos and memorabilia.
The set's first two LPs feature the original album in stereo and a Quadraphonic mix folded down to stereo, the latter long out of print since its initial issue on vinyl and 8-track cartridge in 1974.
The package's remaining three records feature two 1970 live performances. The first was recorded on August 31 in Montreux, Switzerland, shortly before the release of Paranoid, while the second was recorded a few months later in Brussels during the band's performance for Belgian television.
Paranoid includes Black Sabbath catalogue staples "Iron Man" and "War Pigs," while its title track marked the band's first-ever single release, six months after their self-titled debut album changed music forever. You can pore over the vinyl tracklistings below.
Black Sabbath recently released the best piece of charitable merch going, and frontman Ozzy Osbourne will soon be the subject of a forthcoming biopic.
