There's still no word on when we can expect doom-metal forbearers Black Sabbath to deliver their Rick Rubin-produced, Bill Ward-less new album, but the band have announced that you'll be able to grab some wax by the end of the year via a box set titled The Vinyl Collection: 1970-1978.
As can be expected with a title like that, the package, which arrives December 12, will put together all eight of the original lineup's LPs together, from 1970's Black Sabbath to 1978's Never Say Die!, plus the 1980 live album Live at Last... Each album was remastered and is being presented on 180-gram vinyl.
A press release for the set further notes that the box set also includes a 7-inch featuring the band's debut single "Evil Woman" and the non-album B-side "Wicked World."
Other ephemera included with The Vinyl Collection: 1970-1978 includes a 12" x 12" hard-backed book that features original tour programs from 1970, 1975, 1976 and 1978; a poster; and a digital download coupon for all of the tracks.
As for that new album, guitarist Tony Iommi told the Guardian earlier this month that six of the 15 tracks intended for the LP have now been recorded.
