Black Mountain

'IV' (album stream)

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Mar 24, 2016

Black Mountain make their big return next week when they officially deliver their long-awaited IV, but you can check out all of the stoned-out sounds ahead of time. Following an earlier pair of previews, a stream of the album has been offered up online.

Fans will already be familiar with the first two tracks on the LP. The riff-baked "Mothers of the Sun" and the nervously stomped-out "Florian Saucer Attack" were premiered earlier in the year via a pair of equally mind-bending music videos.

Elsewhere on the set, you've got the digital drum-driven psyche explorer "You Can Dream," the cowbell-pounding stoner rock grit of "Constellations," a fireside folk strummer called "Line Them All Up," gospel space rock piece "Crucify Me," and the fogged-up and Pink Floyd-esque closer "Space to Bakersfield."

You can sample it all below, courtesy of NPR, while the album officially hits stores April 1 via Dine Alone/Jagjaguwar.

Black Mountain are currently touring overseas, but the North American portion of their IV kicks off near the end of April. You'll find the tour info over here.
