The Black Keys Talk 'Brothers' Follow-Up

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Jul 7, 2011

Though bluesy rock duo the Black Keys are still deep into the tour cycle for their latest effort, last year's Brothers, the band already have big plans for album number seven. In fact, the act are so far ahead of the game that they've already recorded the disc.

An interview with French publication Voir [via One Thirty BPM] found guitarist Dan Auerbach admitting that the next Black Keys record is already in the can. In the chat, the six-stringer admitted that their next set "doesn't really sound like Brothers," apparently favouring more of a rock'n'roll sound owing to the Cramps, the Clash and the Rolling Stones.

Auerbach said to expect the album by year's end. You can read the full, un-translated article here.
