Bionic

Deliverance

BY Stuart GreenPublished Jun 1, 2002

If the new and improved "Unabomber-cum-gas jockey" appearances of Bionic guitar slingers Jonathan Cummins and Ian Blurton on the CD jacket weren't scary enough, surely the monster doses of riff rock contained within will give you nightmares of desert truck stops and stoned road warriors for years to come. Having now completely shed any and all signs of the safe pop punk he dispensed as a member of Doughboys, Cummins' shredded vocal chords and relentless "Gibson guitars through Marshall stacks at 11" sonic wallop makes for one of rawest and toughest sounding rock records since Mountain screamed about a Mississippi Queen in the '70s.
