Billy Corgan has a couple of new Smashing Pumpkins albums on the way, not to mention his own Chicago tea house to maintain, so it's understandable that he has stripped himself of one of his many responsibilities: the songwriter is no longer involved with Resistance Pro Wrestling.

Corgan announced the news on Twitter, explaining that details will be confirmed in due course. Evidently he's not leaving the professional wrestling federation on bitter terms, since he extended a thank-you to the wrestling talent he has worked with. Corgan co-founded Resistance Pro Wrestling in 2011. Earlier this year, his role in the company as creative director was set to be the focus of an AMC reality show, but this plan was later axed.

The future of Resistance Pro is unclear, but it has an event coming up in January.

Meanwhile, Smashing Pumpkins will release Monuments to an Elegy on December 9 via BMG.
