Ben Kunder Lines Up 'Golden' Album

BY Alex HudsonPublished Apr 1, 2015

Canadian singer-songwriter Ben Kunder has been making music for close to a decade, but it's taken him until now to complete his debut solo album. The record is called Golden, and it will be out on May 26.

The album was produced by John Dinsmore, a musician who has played bass with artists like Sarah Harmer, Kathleen Edwards and Elliott Brood. Recording took place at Toronto's Lincoln County Social Club, with contributors including guitarist-keyboardist Brian Murphy (Alvvays), three members of Ladies of the Canyon, drummer Rich Knox (Danko Jones) and more.

For a taste of the album's rootsy sound, scroll past the tracklist below to hear the folk rock number "Half Moon."

Also below, see Kunder's live schedule. Currently, all of his shows are in Toronto, and this includes an album release party at the Dakota Tavern on May 27. More dates will reportedly be announced soon.

While Golden is being billed as the tunesmith's first album, it's worth pointing out that he previously released music with the band Ben Kunder & the Careless.
