Previously dormant Vancouver folk outfit Be Good Tanyas returned to the stage last year and reissued their 2001 debut Blue Horse. Now, they're taking a look back at their entire career with the compilation A Collection (2000-2012). Before the set drops on Tuesday (July 17) through Nettwerk Records, however, you can stream the whole thing at Exclaim.ca.
As you'd expect from a retrospective album, A Collection consists of notable tracks and fan favourites from the group's back catalogue. There are also a handful of unheard tunes, including new mixes of "Scattered Leaves" and "Song for R," plus the band new cuts "Little Black Bear" and "Gospel Song." All in all, the album includes 16 tracks, making this a good introduction for new listeners, as well as a must-hear for old fans.
