Battles Announce World Tour, Play Toronto

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Mar 2, 2011

Just last week, we got word from rhythmic rock unit Battles that they would soon be releasing their new album, Gloss Drop. As their first disc since the departure of singer/guitarist Tyondai Braxton, the album will feature a host of guests, from Gary Numan to Blonde Redhead singer Kazu Makino. Though it's unclear whether the extra collaborators will jam with the experimental band outside of the studio, the remaining three Battles members are ready to take their new songs out for a test drive, as the group have just announced a world tour.

The outfit's recently announced tour schedule is heavy with festival dates, but the jaunt, which starts in Japan in April before the band hit up North America and Europe, does include some more intimate club gigs. Canadian fans, for instance, can catch the act at the Horseshoe Tavern in Toronto on April 29. Check out the rest of the dates below.

As previously reported, Gloss Drop comes out June 7 via Warp.
