What does it look like when Battles create an album? Now we can get a glimpse of the process thanks to a 17-minute documentary about the forthcoming La Di Da Di.
The Ableton-produced featurette begins with footage from a live show, and the trio explain their philosophy about looping. Then, after a quick bite in Central Park, the guys get down to recording their album, and we see them tinkering around in sunny, black-walled practice room in New York City that's filled with amps, pedals and instrumentals.
Next, they head out to Pawtucket, RI, and most of the second half of the clip shows them recording the final product at Machines With Magnets studio.
Watch the doc below. La Di Da Di will be out on September 18 through Warp.
