Bastard Priest

Ghouls of the Endless Night

BY Kiel HumePublished Nov 8, 2011

In the world of metal, having a truly badass name is half the battle. Bands like Venom, Deicide, Cannibal Corpse and Anal Cunt (the list could go on, really) have set a standard for ghoulish, disgusting and plain ungodly monikers. Bastard Priest fit into this tradition nicely, with a name so awesome you'd think it impossible to create a sound that would live up to it. Luckily for the world, Bastard Priest do live up to their name, achieving something close to demonic thrash metal perfection on Ghouls of the Endless Night. The album is a majestic composition of unholy riffs, solos and growls that sound as evil as anything Slayer have ever produced. Bastard Priest have created an album that is fun to listen to and also sounds like the soundtrack to the day Halloween was invented, rife with catchy, punk-y, head-banging thrash tracks. Only time will tell, but Ghouls of the Endless Night could very well be Bastard Priest's Reign in Blood.
