It's too early to tell whether or not a Joe Biden presidency will end the Age of Unreason, but Bad Religion are marking today's inauguration with a new single nonetheless.
The punk vets have shared "Emancipation of the Mind," an outtake from their aforementioned 2019 album that calls for reason and open-mindedness as Donald Trump's presidency finally ends.
"I think the song really is a celebration of enlightenment values that can be cultivated through enthusiastic learning and open-mindedness," vocalist Greg Graffin said in a statement. "So often we're told what to think. But learning how to think (as opposed to learning what to think) is a true feeling of emancipation from the constraints of indoctrination that are so commonplace in our society."
"Emancipation of the Mind" follows 2020 singles "What Are We Standing For" and a rerecorded version of "Faith Alone." Last year also saw the release of the group's autobiography, Do What You Want.
