Baby Gets Crowd-Surfed at Flo Rida Concert for Some Reason

Sometimes the wild ones are also parents

While scanning the crowd for some Apple Bottom Jeans and boots with the fur (and/or baggy sweatpants and the Reeboks with the straps) during his performance in Erie, PA, this weekend, Flo Rida's keen eye thankfully spotted a baby being crowd-surfed. (It seems more than fair to use passive voice here, since an infant child decidedly can't crowd-surf on its own volition.)

Flo Rida — the happy-go-lucky courtroom stunner and philanthropist — was just minding his own business on Saturday (August 19) night while performing at the annual Celebrate Erie festival in the city's downtown core. Ironically, it was while rapping his breakthrough 2008 hit, "Low," that somebody decided it would be a good idea to lift a baby high up above the droves of fans and in the direction of the artist, who was sitting on a security's shoulders.

Angel that he is, Flo spotted the kid and smiled, motioning for the sea of hands to send it his way. Thankfully, the baby landed unharmed in the safety of the rapper's arms. With a kiss on the head, Flo expertly affixed the infant to his chest. He even offered the child the mic at one point, but they were a little shy (and more than likely nonverbal).

This doesn't exactly land under the same category as fans throwing stuff at musicians, but it's certainly also weird and not safe. The safety issues of crowd-surfing as an autonomous adult are probably not even up for debate to begin with, and one also has to question crowd-surfing at a Flo Rida show specifically.

Later in the set, the baby ended up being held on the stage like Rafiki holds Simba up in the classic "Circle of Life" bit of The Lion King. You can watch fan footage of both parts of the very all-ages show below.
