Long-running Vancouver punk mashers B-Lines kicked off their current West Coast tour in a particularly odd manner: by announcing they're breaking up. After six years on the scene, the band have revealed that they're not going to be your Opening Band for much longer, with plans to play a final show in September.
The news arrived over Facebook this weekend, hours ahead of a show in Vancouver, via an event post that now describes their West Coast tour as their last.
"This is the last time B-Lines will go on tour. Maybe you should go see them?" they wrote above the tour specifics. As you'll see in the listings down below, the trek goes to Los Angeles and back.
Another event dubbed B-Lines Last Show confirms that the grand finale will be a performance at Vancouver's Hindenburg club on September 11.
You'll find all of the date details down below.
When reached by Exclaim! about the impeding breakup, frontman Ryan Dyck stated, "I feel like it's just time. I'm too old to be punk," adding, "Interested parties are welcome to woo us into a new band."
Formed out of the ashes of long-gone Vancouver projects Fuck Me Dead and Fun-100, B-Lines specialized in a furious and smart-alecky old-school hardcore approach akin to Group Sex-era Circle Jerks and the Adolescents, while also fitting in with the punkier side of Vancouver's Mint Records catalogue.
Over the years, B-Lines issued 7-inches on Nominal Records and Kingfisher Bluez, and left behind two-full length releases. Their last release was 2014's Opening Band, which was pressed through Dyck's own Hockey Dad Records and Nominal.
Tour dates:
05/14 Olympia, WA - Obsidian
05/15 Seattle, WA - Victory Lounge
05/16 Portland, OR - The Foggy Notion
05/17 Sacramento, CA - Cafe Colonial
05/18 Oakland, CA - 1600 7th St.

05/22 Orange County, CA - St. James Tattooery
