Oji-Cree singer-songwriter Aysanabee is back with new music: he's releasing an EP, previewed today by new single "Alone."

Here and Now arrives October 20 through Ishkōdé Records. It follows the artist's acclaimed debut album, 2022's Watin, which is currently shortlisted for the Polaris Music Prize.

"This is the first of more records that will explore the impact of colonization on Indigenous love in this country," Aysanabee explained in a statement. "This country never made me feel worthy of love, and in turn never made me feel worthy of the love of another. Through this record, I wanted to be honest by facing my own fallibilities when it comes to building and keeping relationships."

The EP is set to include the musician's recent single, "Somebody Else," as well as new track "Alone," which sees his rich, burnt-sienna voice rise out of an abyss of warbling synths, beating-your-chest percussion and a grand gospel choir congregation.
