Back in 2009, the Avett Brothers teamed up with studio master Rick Rubin for I and Love and You, which they released through the producer's American Recordings label. Now, they're ready to do it all over again with another Rubin-produced LP.
This one is called The Carpenter, and it will be out on September 11 via American/Republic. A press release promises that it contains "poignant and powerful songs," including "several of the group's signature harmony-driven acoustic ballads," along with the odd "boisterous" number.
At the bottom of the page, listen to the new single "Live and Die," which finds the band injecting a little buoyant pop into their folksy, sensitive sound.
The Avett Brothers will be spending the next few months touring heavily. Their schedule includes Canadian dates in Toronto and Fredericton. See the schedule below.
