Exclaim!'s most anticipated Canadian album of 2013 finally has a release date, as Arcade Fire have confirmed that their fourth LP will be released on October 29.
The news comes courtesy of a tweet by the band made only in response to a fan and isn't up on their main feed — maybe the greatest and most casual album release news drop ever — but it can be accessed via the photo sidebar. They posted the date along with a grainy image that looks a bit like an explosion in a geodesic dome, which you can see above. It's possible that this image is the album cover.
We've been hearing tidbits about the band's in-the-works album for some time now, and the band confirmed last year that they were looking at a late 2013 release date. When we heard from them in March, the band were recording at James Murphy's DFA Studio in New York.
