Canadian metal lifers Anvil are still basking in the success of the 2008 documentary Anvil! The Story of Anvil, and having released a couple of albums since then, they have now confirmed their latest: Anvil Is Anvil will be out on February 26 through SPV/Steamhammer.
The band recorded the album last month (October) in Cologne, Germany, with sessions taking place with producer Martin "Mattes" Pfeiffer. Anvil Is Anvil will be out on CD, vinyl and digital download.
Regarding the decision to team up with a new producer (after working with Bob Marlette for the last couple of albums), singer-guitarist Steve "Lips" Kudlow told Metal Talk [via Blabbermouth], "I think it's important for a band to change its underwear. It doesn't change the person, but it changes the underwear, and it is important to change your underwear; otherwise it starts to stink. It's the same sort of concept. You can't stay the same — you need to inject something new, something fresh, something that you didn't do yet."
Additionally, Anvil have announced a run of European dates in 2016 with Udo Dirkschneider. See the schedule here.
The band raised funds for the LP with a PledgeMusic campaign. This is Anvil's first album since 2013's Hope in Hell.
