Technically speaking, political punks Anti-Flag have already missed the 10th birthday of their album The Terror State, which came out back in 2003. Still, that isn't stopping them from celebrating it with a slightly belated 10th anniversary tour in early 2015.
The band had already confirmed some U.S. dates for the trek, and now they've expanded the schedule into Canada. The band will play The Terror State a few times in the U.S. in early January before hitting the road with Pennywise and A Wilhelm Scream (those shows don't appear to be full-album performances).
The Terror State tour will resume after that, and this includes a February leg in Canada with stops in Toronto, Montreal, Peterborough, Hamilton and London. See the full schedule below. Take special note of which shows are full-album performances and which aren't.
The band issued the following statement on The Terror State and the tour surrounding it:
Mission Accomplished? For the political and corporate elite who benefit from endless wars, maybe. But with another round of bombing in Iraq in 2014 it's hard not to experience a troubled feeling of déjà vu to the days leading up to the Invasion of Iraq in 2003.
The songs of The Terror State were written in the midst of the anti-war movement of that era and continue to remind us that, whether it is Bush or Obama, U.S. wars of aggression and imperialism result in the loss of innocent life and catastrophe at home and abroad. It is clear that the fight to end wars for corporate and political gain is not over.
The handful of shows around our Pennywise dates will serve as a creative outlet to direct that frustration and anger and will be a collective celebration of those unwilling to relent to the criminal and morally bankrupt corporate and political elite of our time.
