CanCon icon Anne Murray — who's possibly responsible for coining the term "Snowbird" with the chart-topping hit from her 1969 sophomore album This Way Is My Way — is finally getting her due diligence: a documentary about her life and career, entitled Anne Murray: Full Circle.

Produced by Network Entertainment (in association with Universal Music Canada), the film will celebrate Murray's unparalleled achievements and artistic evolution over the course of her 40-year career, charting her rise from Canadian genre-crossing innovator to global superstar.

Helmed by the directorial team of Morgan Elliott and Adrian Buitenhuis, Full Circle will also include interviews with Murray's contemporaries, friends and collaborators, including Shania Twain, Jann Arden, Bonnie Raitt, k.d. lang, Gordon Lightfoot, Kenny Loggins and more, as well as never-before-seen archival footage.

Of the film, Murray said in a statement:

It's a surreal and sometimes unnerving feeling to watch your life replay itself on-screen, but I am honoured to have my story told by such a creative team. Seeing the old footage and hearing the words of my dear friends and collaborators takes me back — to both the good times and the not-so-good ones. Throughout my career, the loyalty and support of my fans have been a constant. They were there with me every step of the way, even when others were not. I hope they enjoy this trip down memory lane.

The doc will premiere at 50 Cineplex movie theatres across the nation as a special one-night event on December 2 ahead of its December 17 streaming and broadcast premieres on CBC Gem and CBC TV.
