Andrew Bird has shared details of a new album called Inside Problems, which is due June 3 via Loma Vista.
He's also unveiled a new offering from the record, the Mike Viola-produced "Underlands," which is said to introduce an album "that deals with the unseen underneath and the membrane that separates your outside problems from your inside problems." The track follows the release of lead single "Atomized."
"I have so much fun taking my ideas apart before they really have defined themselves as distinct songs, when they're still in that amoeba-like state," Bird of the record said in a statement. "I love the feeling of chasing ideas and having them split off and go hang out with another idea and then butting them up against each other to see if they talk to each other."
The album was recorded live with Bird's four-piece band, and includes vocals from Madison Cunningham.
Inside Problems marks Bird's follow-up to 2021's collaborative effort with Jimbo Mathus, These 13. Back in 2020, the artist released Hark!
