Andrea Wappel

Mississauga, ON singer-songwriter Andrea Wappel has released her second EP, the surprisingly full-sounding (despite the sparse instrumentals) This is the Way Out. In its brevity, the EP showcases songs that hint at the ease with which Wappel wields an acoustic guitar and sings in her strong, low register. I have a feeling that she would be an entertaining performer to see live. Two of the tracks are covers: "Space Lord" was originally penned by Monster Magnet and "D'You Know What I Mean" is a beautiful Oasis cover. In total, Wappel has released one full album followed by two EPs. It's apparent that she is a gifted performer and songwriter, thus it would be a treat to see her bulk up her library and release another full-length album in the future. This woman has potential.
