Who are you?
André Skinner. Drummer/Producer Pope Factory and Live Electric owner operator of Micro Music.
What are you up to?
Just released the new Live Electric album, just finished recording Pope Factory's new album and I'm taking Santa Photos and a mall in Scarborough.
Hometown and current HQ:
Newmarket; Downtown Toronto.
Current fixations:
Chocolate, internet, Lucy Liu.
Mind altering work of art:
Beavis and Butthead.
Most memorable/inspirational gig and why? Kensington Market (Club Sonca) we had an acid jazz gig and I played the most intense and passionate music of my life. I really surprised myself.
What should everyone shut up about?
Don Cherry
Your greatest strength and weakness:
Strength: Music - Weakness: Business.
Your vital daily ritual:
Be happy.
Guilty pleasure:
Chocolate fixes.
If I wasn't playing music I would be:
In the mountains playing in the snow.
Your most memorable day job:
Maintenance worker at Spring Lakes Golf Club - We ruined a lot of expensive equipment and did not get fired. Oh yeah, I witnessed a big $250,000 air compressor blow up.
Best/worst advice received:
Best - My mom once said "you're going to be a leader" Worst - you wont make any money playing music.
I would drop everything to play a benefit for:David Letterman.
What makes you want to take it off and get it on?
The sense of raging hormones in a gaze.
What personal trait would make you kick someone out of your band? And have you?:
Lack of passion for the music. Yes.
When I think of Canada I think:
Hockey, Sloan and clueless Music Industry Execs.
Music and sex: Is there a difference? Why? In Hip-Hop there ain't no difference. Just check any new video.
Strangest brush with celebrity:
Micheal Moriarty of Law & Order was really licked at the Beat Junkie in Toronto and swayed my way to ask me and my friend for a light.
What does your mom wish you were doing instead? Making a lot more money.
