Amon Tobin to Premiere Isam Live Stage Show at MUTEK

We already knew that Montreal-based/Brazil-born Amon Tobin would be releasing a boundary-pushing new album. Entitled Isam, Ninja Tune previously promised that the collection would see the electronic experimentalist "redrawing and blurring the lines between psychedelia and sci-fi, between art and entertainment, between sound design and melody." Fittingly, he will be supporting the disc with a batshit-crazy stage show.

A press release explains that the show "will feature a stunning 25' x 14' x 8' multi-dimensional/shape-shifting 3-D art installation surrounding Tobin and enveloping him and the audience in a beyond 3-D experience."

The PR goes on to promise that the show will "be a visual onslaught -- narrative, subtle and bombastic -- using projection mapping, generative/audio reactive real-time and pre-rendered elements combined with custom software to control the show." It was designed in collaboration with V Squared Labs founder Vello, and you can get a glimpse of what to expect by checking out the still above.

So where can fans see this spectacular stage show? First, it will be premiering at the MUTEK festival in Montreal on June 1. After that, British fans will have a chance to check it out in London on June 17. From there, Amon Tobin will go to "select cities around the world," but the schedule has not yet been announced. Here's hoping that it includes some more Canadian dates.
