alt-J have emerged from the ether to announce a headlining North American tour in support of an upcoming batch of new music — their first studio album in four years.

Kicking off the trek in early 2022, the group will hit three Canadian cities along the way — including a stop in Vancouver at the Pacific Coliseum in March, as well as a night each in Montreal at Place Bell and Toronto at Coca-Cola Coliseum in April.

Portugal. The Man and Cherry Glazerr will offer support along the way. Tickets go on sale on October 1 at 10 a.m. local time at Alt-J's website.

The group have also shared a new single from their upcoming fourth studio album The Dream, which is due to arrive on February 11 via Canvasback/Infectious Music.

Today, we're getting a first glimpse at what's to come in the form of their previously teased lead track, "U&ME," which arrives with its own video directed by the alt-J keyboardist/vocalist Gus Unger-Hamilton's brother, Prosper. It's the first video in the band's catalogue to feature all three members.

As for the song, Gus Unger-Hamilton explained in a statement: "It's about being at a festival with your best friends, having a good time, togetherness, and the feeling in life that nothing could be any better than it is right now."

It's one of 12 tracks on their forthcoming effort and marks their first new material since 2017's Relaxer.

Watch the video for "U&ME" below, where you'll also find the group's upcoming tour dates.
