Alanis Morissette's iconic 1995 album Jagged Little Pill has morphed into a musical production over the last couple years, and it's finally been given a premiere date on Broadway. It will begin preview performances on November 3, followed by the official opening night on December 5.
It moves to the Broadhurst Theatre on Broadway in New York City after a 10-week run in Cambridge, MA, last year.
Pre-sale tickets will be available from May 6 to 8 to members of the Jagged Little Pill fan club, while American Express customers will have access to a pre-sale from May 8 to 16. Tickets go on sale to the general public on May 23. Find full information here.
As previously reported, the musical touches on an array of topical issues like opiate addiction, sexual assault and gender identity. The story is told via the members of the Healy family — a seemingly perfect Connecticut family, though the illusion of perfection begins to falls apart before long.
Morissette worked on the album-to-musical transformation with writer Diablo Cody, director Diane Paulus and composer Tom Kitt.
The musical features such Morissette hits as "You Oughta Know," "Head Over Feet," "Hand in My Pocket" and "Ironic."
