Abyssos

Even if you've only had casual dalliances with the Scandinavian black metal scene, you’ve already heard what Abyssos has to offer. Abyssos are a competent lot, complete with all the black metal liabilities, but they do possess some decent riffing, a good use of velocity and a few majestic choruses. They may not be up to par with the genre leaders, but there's enough quality songwriting here to prevent them from falling into the steaming pit of unoriginality that mars most black metal.
