Winnipeg's Royal Canoe have announced a 14-stop Canadian tour in support of their latest record, Sidelining, out now on Paper Bag Records/Birthday Cake Records.
The April 2022 tour will take them through Quebec, Ontario, Saskatchewan, Alberta and B.C. before closing out in their home province of Manitoba. It'll feature guest appearances from Zoon and fellow Winnipeggers Living Hour.
Along with the tour announcement, the band has also shared the Vince Tang-directed video for Sidelining track "Surrender." About the video, Tang said:
From my initial listen to "Surrender," the song begins and I couldn't really predict where it was going. I found that to be one of its best attributes. It was a very unique song in my opinion, it played out like a story with many twists and turns along the way. Therefore, unpredictability became the theme. As a filmmaker, my source of inspirations are films and we decided to go with a narrative that was heavily influenced by specific genre elements and right before the audience is getting comfortable with what they believe the story is to be, we completely twist into another. The visuals and the song are completely different but in a strange way reflect one another.
