What have you been up to the last few months? Spring cleaning? Hitting up the gym? Catching up on your favourite shows? That's cool. But none of it is as notable as the Wisconsin man who has gone to see Captain Marvel 116 times.
Speaking with WSAW, Steve Ruppel explained that he was shocked when he learned that the Guinness World Record of most cinema viewings of the same movie was 104 times.
"I thought it was the most insane thing ever, I thought it was impossible. I wasn't even sure why it was even a record, but I thought after a while 'I should probably do that,'" he said.
Rather than stick to 105 viewings, Ruppel has opted to watch Captain Marvel 116 times since the film came out on March 7. That's 14,268 minutes of Brie Larson.
Of course, the task has taken its toll on Ruppel's personal life.
"The amount of time that it takes, I've had to take time off work, I would take long lunch breaks to accommodate watching an entire movie in that particular time frame," he said. "And then just time on the weekends where I'm not doing other things."
For those worried that Ruppel hurt his back from spending that much time in the theatre, it should be noted that he works as chiropractor.
