Jon Favreau's Star Wars spinoff series The Mandalorian is shaping up to be, well, a star-studded affair. Among the various actors set to participate in the project is none other than nihilistic director Werner Herzog.

We have no idea what Herzog will be playing in the show, so we just turned his face green and slapped it onto Yoda's body. It's great, right?

Disney confirmed the casting today. In addition to Herzog, the film will feature Breaking Bad's Giancarlo Esposito, Emily Swallow, Gina Carano and Omid Abtahi.

The series will also include the directing talents of Bryce Dallas Howard, Taika Waititi and Pedro Pascal, among others.

We've also got an official synopsis:

After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.

The Mandalorian will arrive in 2019.
