It appears that Young Guns is latest '80s property set for a revival, as original writer John Fusco has began teasing Young Guns III — complete with original star Emilio Estevez back as Billy the Kid.

Fusco made the reveal over a recent series of tweets, posting a poster mockup for a project called Young Guns III Alias: Billy the Kid.

"Emilio Estevez and I are excited to be collaborating on this continuation of the Billy the Kid saga — and you're going to love where it goes," Fusco captioned the tweet.

He also tagged OG stars Lou Diamond Phillips, Kiefer Sutherland and Cristian Slater, as well as Chris Pratt and, um, Warren G.

Not stopping there, Fusco went on to tweet a photo of himself with Estevez as they were filming 1990 sequel Young Guns II.

"Me and Emilio on the Mexico border in 1989, discussing a scene during the filming of #YoungGuns 2," Fusco wrote. "At the end of the shoot, he gave me his 1881 Colt Lightning. Guess I will need to give it back to him. No surrender for #BillytheKid."

At this point, few other details about Young Guns III have surfaced, but the first film was directed by Christopher Cain and emerged as a massive hit when it was released in 1988. In addition to starring Estevez as Billy the Kid, the biographical Western also starred the likes of Kiefer Sutherland, Lou Diamond Phillips, Charlie Sheen, Dermot Mulroney and Casey Siemaszko.

The Young Guns II sequel followed in 1990 and famously featured a soundtrack by Bon Jovi that's still a regular fixture of classic rock radio.
