A new documentary from Netflix about the making of the 1985 charity single "We Are the World" has received its first trailer.

Arriving on the platform later this month, The Greatest Night in Pop charts "the rollercoaster ride to write and record the groundbreaking song that would go on to raise millions for famine relief in Africa."

Directed by Bao Nguyen, the film features new interviews with a selection of the 46 artists who lent their vocal talents to the song, including Lionel Richie, Bruce Springsteen, Smokey Robinson, Cyndi Lauper, Dionne Warwick and Huey Lewis.

Produced by Quincy Jones and Michael Omartian, "We Are the World" and its accompanying music video would go on to capture four Grammy Awards at the 1986 ceremonies, winning Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal and Best Music Video, Short Form.

The Greatest Night in Pop premieres on Netflix January 29.
