Tom Hanks Is Bringing Back David S. Pumpkins for an Animated 'SNL' Halloween Special

Last year, Saturday Night Live had an extremely viral (and, for once, not Trump-related) sketch with David S. Pumpkins. The Halloween-themed goofball played by Tom Hanks was so popular, in fact, that he's now getting his own animated special.

Dubbed The David S. Pumpkins Halloween Special, the cartoon will air on October 22. In addition to Hanks, it'll feature voice work from Peter Dinklage as well as Mikey Day, Bobby Moynihan and Streeter Seidell.

In a statement, NBC's George Cheeks said, "It's scary how quickly the original 'SNL' sketch caught on, and we're thrilled that Tom Hanks is back to keep the fun going."

As for the non-animated portion of SNL, the show will return with its season premiere on October 1.
