It feels like it was only a few months ago that we were mourning the loss of TimePlay, that movie trivia app that allowed us to smear butter all over our smartphones while we waited for movies to start at Cineplex theatres. Turns out we'll just have to dip our fingers in butter at home, because the game will live on as a smartphone app.
TimePlay lives on as TimePlay Live, a new app that will allow you to play from your home. The app will offer three live games per week, and its inaugural session will take place on April 22 at 8:30 p.m.
"TimePlay Live is busting out of the four walls of the cinema and brings an immersive experience into your own interactive living room," said TimePlay CEO Oren Rosen in a press release. "We can't wait for Canadians to experience the fresh new take on the game show they know and love."
The press release makes no mention of Cineplex or the game's beloved former host Tanner Zipchen, but they do still mention SCENE Points. In fact, the first-ever TimePlay session will see 10,000 SCENE Points up for grabs.
This begs another question: will SCENE Points outlive all Canadian culture? Will they be the dominant currency after the apocalypse?
