Disney has managed to wring billions of dollars out of nearly every property in owns, but they still haven't figured out how to recapture the spirit of the Muppets. While we await whatever new Muppet thing they try next, however, we can rest assured that the classics will be kept safe as The Muppet Show will soon be available to stream on Disney+.
The variety show will see all of its five seasons available to stream on the service beginning on February 19.
The show's star, a peppy amphibian by the name of Kermit the Frog, shared an official statement about the news.
"It's going to be great to welcome back longtime fans, and to give a new generation of fans a chance to see how we got our start, how Miss Piggy became a star and so much more," he said. "Today, I'm proud to say: 'It's time to play the music, light the lights and meet the Muppets on Disney Plus tonight!' And as for Statler and Waldorf, the two old guys in the balcony, I can only add: 'Sorry, guys, but….here we go again."
