Ever since the Star Wars spinoff The Mandalorian emerged on Disney+, we've been clamouring for more. And while there is still no word on when we will actually get Season 2, fans will get a new documentary series about the beloved show. The best part? It will arrive on May the 4th (a.k.a. Star Wars Day).
Disney+ has announced it will be airing an eight-part docuseries called Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian, promising an "unprecedented look" at the making of the series.
Each episode of the documentary series will include interviews, previously unseen footage and roundtable conversations hosted by Mandalorian creator Jon Favreau. This means, we likely can expect to watch Werner Herzog, Taika Waititi and Baby Yoda get all philosophical on us.
As a press release puts it, topics will include "the filmmaking process, the legacy of George Lucas' Star Wars, how the cast brought the characters to life, the series' groundbreaking technology, the artistry behind the show's practical models, effects, and creatures, plus the creative influences, the iconic score, and connections to Star Wars characters and props from across the galaxy."
The Mandalorian Season 2 was previously expected to arrive in October, but considering the way the world is going right now, don't get your hopes up too much just quite yet.
