While we finally got a trailer for the long-awaited Child's Play TV series this summer, Chucky is officially delaying production in Toronto.
Like pretty much everything, the delay comes as a result of COVID-19, Deadline reports. Apparently, due to the ongoing pandemic, USA Network and Syfy are bumping the start of production on Chucky until 2021.
Filming on the series — which is being helmed by Child's Play creator Don Mancini — was originally scheduled to start this fall in Toronto, but now it will take place in the new year if everything goes well, according to Deadline.
That said, the show itself was always originally set to premiere in 2021, so hopefully that still happens. For now, cross those little freckled, knife-wielding fingers.
