The Calgary Underground Film Festival Will Have an Online-Only Edition This Year

BY Josiah HughesPublished May 21, 2020

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Calgary Underground Film Festival was forced to postpone its 17th annual edition, which had been scheduled to happen last month. Now, thankfully, the event has reemerged with plans for an online fest.

The online edition will take place from June 22 to 28 and will take place primarily on the CineSend platform. CUFF will have a mixture of on-demand films, as well as live events.

Further, if you really want to leave the house, the festival will also offer two nights of drive-in movies at Big Rock Brewery in Calgary.

Tickets for the festival will go on sale in early June, when the fest plans to also announce its lineup.

Unfortunately for the rest of Canada, this is still a local event — online films will be geoblocked to only play in Alberta.

Stay tuned for more details on the online CUFF as they become available.
