Sylvester Stallone Not Working on 'Rambo: New Blood' TV Series

Sylvester Stallone's Rocky franchise recently delivered a box office knockout with Creed, and the winning move was to let a younger generation take over as the main draw. It looks like Sly might pull that move with his other famous franchise, as a Rambo TV series is in the works with a father-son dynamic at play.

As Deadline reports, FOX has just closed a development deal with Sly on a new series called Rambo: New Blood. The television show will focus on the adventures of Rambo and his son.

So far, Sylvester Stallone is only confirmed as executive producer. Deadline explains that different sources have suggested conflicting information as to whether or not Stallone would act in the project as well. That said, who the hell else is going to play Rambo?

New Blood is being writen by Jeb Stuart (The FugitiveDie Hard). Rambo's son is a new character named J.R.

Stay tuned for more information on the Rambo TV series as it becomes available.

UPDATE: Deadline have since retracted the news that Sylvester Stallone is returning to Rambo. Reps for the actor and director said, "Contrary to reports, Sylvester Stallone has opted not to participate in the planned Rambo television series in any way at all." Stallone himself added, "I wish the others well with the project."
