Last October, we learned that the freaky foodstuffs of Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg's Sausage Party would be given a new series at Amazon Prime Video, and Rogen is already turning the heat up on the hype in billing the forthcoming Sausage Party: Foodtopia as "unbelievably shocking."
In a recent conversation with British film publication Empire, Rogen points to one particular scene in the forthcoming series that sounds spiritually similar to the penultimate action of the first film in its lewd hilarity.
"There's one specific scene that had a special screening for the Amazon PR people," Rogen shared with Empire, imagining they may have to come to a decision in the vein of having pubes removed from a pita bread: "'You should all just start wrapping your heads around this now. You'll probably have to talk about this a lot.'"
As Rogen and Goldberg's complete Empire interview hits newsstands across the pond tomorrow (July 6), there aren't many specifics about the scene. However, Rogen did characterize the clip in question as one that even shocked returning cast members who were involved with the first Sausage Party.
Rogen recalled, "We had Kristen Wiig in picking up a few lines the other day, and I think we've all become desensitized to it, because we'll just be like, 'Roll the scene!', and then she was like, 'Oh my God?! This is insane!'"
As previously reported, Sausage Party: Foodtopia is expected to arrive via Amazon Prime Video in 2024. Along with Wiig, returning cast members Michael Cera, David Krumholtz and Edward Norton have also been tied to the series.
Presently in production, Sausage Party: Foodtopia will also feature new cast additions Will Forte, Sam Richardson, Natasha Rothwell and Yassir Lester.
